インドを代表する世界的なミュージシャンA.R.ラフマーンが、
１９９２年８月、映画「ロージャー」で颯爽と映画音楽界にデビューしてから、
今年で３０年目を迎えたことを記念して、彼の３０年の軌跡をたどる、
YouTubeチャンネル＜RAHMAN MUSIC SHEETS＞ が始まります。
８月２６日の『マニ・ラトナム監督、ラフマーン音楽を語る』を皮切りに、
ラフマーンが音楽を手がけたインド映画のみならず、世界の映画を通して、
また、さまざまな国際的なコラボレーションやアクティビティを通して、
彼の音楽世界をご堪能いただけましたら幸いです。
３０年間のインド映画の変化も見えてくるのではないでしょうか。
日本・福岡アジア文化賞の授賞式の模様なども紹介されます。
監督を務めるのは、東京国際映画祭でも上映されたドキュメンタリー映画
「ジャイ・ホー〜ARラフマーンの音世界」のウメーシュ・アグルワールです。

RAHMAN MUSIC SHEETS– this series tracks three decades of an incredible musical journey of Oscars and Grammys winner A.R. Rahman. During this period Mr. Rahman single-handedly transformed the very syntax of film music in India, took it around the globe, and won hearts worldwide.

Besides featuring stalwarts of music and cinema the series will also feature musicians from across the globe who recreated Rahman’s music.
The 1st episode premieres on Thursday - 26th August 2021. It starts with Mani Ratnam who recall his association with Rahman since 1992. Mr. Ratnam goes into nuances of music Mr. Rahman created for many of his films.
